Please read your confirmation email carefully in case there are any changes for your child's specific camp week. The information below is general, but what we expect for the summer.

Welcome!
We hope that you and your camper are excited, and prepared for a great visit filled with amazing opportunities to have fun and make memories to last a lifetime! Below you'll find information regarding drop-off, pick-up, packing lists, an overview of a typical day at camp, payment options, and directions.
Drop-Off and Pick Up
Drop off 3:00PM-4:00PM on the first day of camp
Drop off is between 3:00 and 4:00 on the first day of your camp session. Due to staff responsibilities, we are unable to greet campers before 3:00 p.m. When you arrive at camp, a staff person will be at the gate to welcome everyone and let you know what cabin your children are in. You will then come to the gazebo to complete the sign-in process and drop off all medication with the health care team. From there you will meet your child's counsellors.
Pick up 2:30PM-3:00PM on the last day of camp
Campers will be ready for pick-up in front of MacDonald Lodge on closing day. We'll meet you as you walk toward the lodge and remind you of the campers cabin name. You'll be directed to your campers pick-up location where you will show the ID to your campers counsellors and gather their belongings. Please pick up any medications from the health care team and sign out your camper from their counsellors before leaving.
Be sure to check the lost and found! Lost items will be held for one week, then they will be donated.
Notice: We require ID from those picking up campers before allowing any camper to leave in order to ensure the safety of that child. On opening day you can inform us of anyone you would like to add to this list and we will happily make those changes.
Camper Mail
If you'd like to send your child mail whilst they are at camp, you can send them one letter for each day of camp, and a maximum of one package during their camp session.
There are bins labelled by day of the week, when you drop off your campers you can put letters for your camper in these bins and we’ll make sure your camper gets your note from home on the day(s) you choose! You are able to send a treat for the child or cabin in the mail but they MUST be nut-free. Please don't pack treats in the campers bags to prevent pests in cabins. Please do not send mail by post to the camp.
What Campers Should Bring to Camp
* Please label everything you bring so that we can return anything lost or left behind after the week.
* Please do not bring: CELL PHONES, money, iPads/ tablets, or expensive jewellery. (If these items are brought, they are stored in the camp office for safety during the week.)
* Nut Aware Facility: Camp Kintail does not serve any food with nuts, nor have any nuts on site. Please do not bring treats or snacks on site that contain any peanut or nut products. This is for the health and safety of all our campers and staff members, some of whom have life-threatening allergies.

Important Cell Phone Information
Kintail has a no cell phone policy for all campers, regardless of age. Please communicate this with your child in advance so they are not surprised. We think it is important for children to have time away from technology. The benefits of a week without screens include increased empathy, attention, and imagination. Campers may be nervous to be away from home. If you think your camper would benefit from setting up check-in times on the phone with one of their adults, we would be happy to set that up and you can schedule a time for your camper to call from the office landline. If a camper is found to have their phone at camp, it will be kept in the office until pick-up day. Please contact the office with any concerns or requests. Learn more about cell phones at camp here!
Campers with Medical Needs
All medications and vitamins need to be given to the Health Care Professionals at sign-in as we do not keep any medications in the cabins.
The Health Care Professionals (HCP) will be staying on-site throughout your child's week of camp and will ensure the safe administration of all medications and treatments. Please ensure your medical form is completed and up to date. You will have a chance to speak to the HCP on registration day and you are welcome to write a note or letter specifically about your camper's needs. The HCP stay in a cabin called "Feathers" right beside the Camp Office and are available day and night.
Medications: Please bring prescription medications in their original container, or seal-packed by a pharmacist, marked clearly with your camper's name. Camp Kintail has Tylenol & Advil in the Health Centre, so you do not need to send that to camp with your child. Please consider going to your pharmacist to get your child's medications packaged in a blister pack as this really helps the HCP.
*Epipens and inhalers will be carried by the campers, please speak with the health care team when you arrive!
A Day At Camp
Every day may not look exactly like what is listed below but this gives you an overview of roughly what to expect! Session blocks include activities like archery, arts and crafts, slide, slingshot, fire building, fort building, rock wall (ages 7+), high ropes (ages 9+), nature hike, and more!
