Dear friends,
We are so excited that the new maintenance shed is almost complete - and we hope you will be able to come and see if for yourself at An Especially Special Night. But I wanted to take the time to celebrate the current maintenance shed, which has served Camp Kintail for the last 45 years. If those walls could talk, I am sure there would be a lot of stories!
For in the maintenance shed, so many projects have emerged - bunkbeds, doors, shelves, campfire circles, benches, cabin signs, and tables. It has stored so much - toilet parts, door handles, wood for a rainy-day project, broken bits and bobs, scaffolding (for maintenance projects and Mission Impossible), and so many cans of Kintail green paint. Tools and equipment have been donated and have kept the camp looking great. Maintenance staff, volunteers, campers, and counsellors have all worked in those walls, creating and changing Camp for the better. So much mentorship has occurred in the shed, with experts patiently teaching young staff members how to care for the equipment, fix what is broken, and take pride in a job well done.
We are so grateful for the people and places that have made Camp Kintail such a beautiful site. We look forward to more space and a heated winter space for projects in the new shed. We are anticipating the transformation of the old shed into a new Arts Centre right in the heart of Camp. We can't wait to see you in the shed at An Especially Special Night!
With thanks,
Theresa & Johnathon
