Campers with Medical Needs
Please ensure your medical form is completed and up to date. If your camper had medication that needs to be administered during their time at camp please come to the main office and bring the medication there, or speak to the staff signing in campers for the bus.
Medications: Please bring prescription medications in their original container, or seal-packed by a pharmacist, marked clearly with your camper's name. Camp Kintail has Tylenol & Advil in the Health Centre, so you do not need to bring that to camp with them. All medications and vitamins need to be given to the Healthcare Team as we do not keep any medications with campers. Please consider going to your pharmacist to get your child's medications packaged in a blister pack as this really helps our Healthcare Team.
*Epipens and inhalers will be carried by the campers, please speak with the healthcare team when you arrive, or speak to the staff signing in campers for the bus.
Cell Phones
Campers will enjoy a week connecting with each other and exploring nature! Please do not send your campers with electronics, cell-phones, i-pods, tablets, or anything else that could distract themselves or their new friends.

A Day At Camp
Every day may not look exactly like what is listed below but this gives you an overview of roughly what to expect! There are many different session activities and there is no guarantee as to which sessions your camper will participate in each week, but as long as weather permits they will go to the beach every day after lunch. Session blocks include activities like archery, arts and crafts, slide, slingshot, fire building, fort building, rock wall (ages 7+), high ropes (ages 9+), nature hike, and more!

Will my camper be with their friend?
You can log in to your camp account and check you “Camper Form” to ensure that you’ve listed your child's friend. If you see the friends name listed under “Cabin Mate Request,” then you can expect that your campers will be together for the week! Log in to check your account here! If you did not list a cabin mate request, but have one now, please email office@campkintail.ca. We do our best and want to accommodate all requests. If we make a mistake and someone is not in the correct group with a friend or family member requested, just let us know and we will get it fixed. We do our best to get it right for every camper as we want them to have an amazing time at Kintail, but occasionally we do miss a request.
It is ideal for campers 7 and under to be in groups together, with children 8 and over to be in the older groups together as different activities are offered for our older participants. In the event of an age gap, the older child would go down into the younger program.
How to help prepare my camper?
Read this email with them and try to answer questions they might have! It will be reassuring to feel prepared/ know exactly what to bring/ have an idea of what a day might look like. Have your camper pack with you so they can be sure that they have everything they need.
Come for "Kirk in the Cedars" our once a month Sunday service at 4 with a dinner be donation at 5! No need to RSVP, and while you're here just let us know and we'll happily send a staff out to tour you.
Visit our social media and look at photos of the camp! You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. See photos of the site as well as some of the activities so your camper can be more familiar with everything!
Reassure your camper that home will be there waiting for them at the end of the day. Camp is a place that is designed to be safe and fun for kids! Focus on staying in the present and think positive thoughts.
