August Kin-Tales

Dear friends,

Camp is still busy with Day Camp and Presbyterian Music Camp this week, but Kintail's overnight camp sessions are done for the year. On closing day, as campers greet their parents and caregivers, there is nothing better than hearing them share about their week. I love when they say - "I conquered a fear!" or "I made a new friend" or "I hunted for a hobbit." I also love when they start singing all the songs that they have learned, and that everyone in their household will now learn along with the actions (some favourites are 40 Year on an Iceberg and Give me a J). I hope that some of what they learned at camp about living in community will also show up at home, with volunteering to do the dishes or taking a turn sweeping the kitchen floor. Maybe there will be a conversation about God's love or the parable of the house on the rock.

Thank you for your great trust in the staff at Camp Kintail in sharing your children with us. It is a responsibility we take seriously. We are always working to improve our programs, our training, and our site to better serve our campers and guests. We are grateful to our donors who allow this work to continue. We are so thankful for the counselllors and staff members who work long hours to create magic for campers. There are so many people that work together to make Camp Kintail happen. As we move towards celebrating a century of camping at Kintail, we are thankful to and for everyone who makes it possible!

Theresa
