About the event
FLASHES OF BEAUTY AND MOMENTS OF MEANING
Finding a sense of deep peace for our heart and soul.
I believe that it is fair to say that we are living in strange times. If you are like me, the ground beneath your feet may feel as if it is shifting from one day to the next. Many things are changing in the realms of theology, politics, weather patterns, and economics.
The nature of public discourse, particularly in political circles, has descended into attack rhetoric. Polarization is driving individuals, families, communities and entire nations farther and farther apart. The realities of war, homelessness, job and food insecurity, the plight of refugees and migrant workers all contribute to a growing sense of fear and anxiety.
In these days of upheaval and uncertainty what are the questions that arise within you?
Do you notice anything stirring in your soul as you endeavour to walk this journey of life to which you are currently being called? What are the longings of your heart? Where might one find a place of solace for the spirit?
If this resonates with you in any way, you are invited to come away for a time of conversation, contemplation, creativity and community on the beautiful grounds of Camp Kintail on the shore of Lake Huron.
Here, we will be reminded that there are, indeed, flashes of beauty and moments of meaning all around us. During our time together, we will explore sacred and inspirational writings from a variety of sources and perspectives.
We will incorporate time for prayer and pondering, music and movement, silence and stillness, creative response and reflective conversation.
Together, we will determine a code of conduct to ensure that we are gathered in a safe space where everyone’s voice will be honoured, where confidentiality will be maintained, and where mutual respect will be valued.

About Kathy
Kathy is a life-long Presbyterian, thankful for the ways in which her faith has been shaped and continues to be re-shaped within the community of those who seek and celebrate the presence of the Divine in all of life.

Since retiring in 2020, she became a Spiritual Director through the Jubilee Ontario programme.
Kathy finds great delight in time spent at the cottage on McCarrel’s Lake near Sault Ste. Marie, walking the labyrinth in Kincardine, playing bridge, and every minute she spends with her grandchildren,
Kathy welcomes every opportunity to share her wisdom, insights and ongoing questions and wonderings as she engages with sacred texts, personal experience, periods of contemplative silence, and deep conversations with those who desire to deepen their awareness of both the abiding presence and the deep mystery of God.
