Greeting friends!

Orbit here, comin’ at you all the way from loud and crazy Kathmandu. I have been travelling in Nepal for 25 days now with a group of fellow geography students from the University of Waterloo. In less than a month we have gone all the way up to Mount Everest Base Camp, and back down again to a place called Chitwan National Park.

Our Everest Base Camp trek took 17 days from start to finish – 12 on the way up, and 5 on the way down. Along the way we walked through forests and across HUGE suspension bridges over beautiful rivers. The higher we got the less trees and greenery we saw. Eventually it was just us and the rocks all the way to Base Camp! Here are a few photos of what I saw….

We had the best time! Sometimes the days were long and the treks were tough, but I feel a huge sense of accomplishment knowing that I achieved my goal.

After Base Camp we visited Chitwan National Park, where we went on a jungle safari, checked out some cool crocodiles, and even rode an elephant!

What an adventure!

Can’t wait to see you all this summer.
