Your friendly lifeguard, Gopher here! During the busy, school group filled spring Pika and myself, the two Waterfront Directors travelled to Grand Bend. There, we signed up for the intense two-day Waterfront National Lifeguard course, where we prepped ourselves for the summer and learnt how to further protect and serve Camp Kintail and the beautiful Huron beach.
The NLS Waterfront course, which we took, emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles and practices, and the decision-making processes, which helped us to provide effective safety supervision for the Huron beach. We also met another waterfront director of a different camp, which was super cool!
