Victoria Day Weekend

The May long weekend was beautiful at Camp Kintail!  After a cloudy Saturday morning, the sun came out and the rest of the weekend was perfect weather.  We welcomed the Presbyterian Young People’s Society of Southwestern Ontario.  The theme of their weekend was “Spiritual Fitness” and Spencer Edwards (Synod Youth Consultant) led several workshops on spiritual practices.  Theresa McDonald-Lee was privileged to lead two worship experiences with PYPS.  One was an experiential worship based on the Fruits of the Spirit, and the other was a sunset communion service in the new chapel (the part that is complete).

The other activity happening at Kintail that weekend was a work party, mainly consisting of members of Knox Presbyterian Church in Monkton and friends.  Over the years, this group has renovated the cabins in Tir-Na-Nog, Kumbayah as well as Tundra-Bonsai and The Nook.  This year, they tackled a new project in our on-going efforts to beautify MacDonald Lodge.  Paving stones were laid all around the new entrances in the kitchen and the office.  This was a huge amount of work, but they look beautiful.  A huge thank you to our amazing work crew!  You are making a huge difference at Camp Kintail.

When the work was done for the day, the families of the work party enjoyed time on our new climbing wall tower.  It was a lot of fun to see campers on the wall and we can’t wait for the summer and for all our campers to experience this new activity at Kintail.
