Yes – the news is true, we will be running seven weeks of day camp this summer where campers will participate in fun programming, swim in the refreshing waters of Lake Huron, and make unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime (all while being safe!).
How do we know it will be safe?
Camp Kintail not only meets, but will strive to exceed all COVID-19 health and safety recommendations from the Ontario Ministry of Health, Huron Perth Public Health, and the Ontario Camps Association to keep all campers and staff safe and healthy this 2021 season! Below are just some of the ways we will be implementing safety this summer:
- Day campers will be in consistent cohorts for the duration of their day camp week – each day they will play, laugh, eat, and enjoy the site with the same campers and the same staff!
- All programming activities will be outside as much as possible! In the event of inclement weather each cohort group will be assigned their own indoor alternative space to continue the fun!
- Masks will be worn indoors and when 6ft/2m of physical distance cannot be maintained outdoors. We all have a favourite mask now – we can’t wait to see you rocking yours this summer!
Don’t worry – while your campers are out having fun our sanitization team will be following behind disinfecting equipment, frequently touched surfaces, and bathrooms to eliminate any germs!
Will there still be food?
Absolutely! We have been serving cafeteria style behind a plexiglass barrier for over a year now! Campers will enjoy the same scrumptious food as before, with staff right there to assist with any dietary needs!
What programming will my camper participate in?
All of our programming is still offered, it just looks a little different! From creating a craft with your own personal craft kit supplies, attending their cohort’s scheduled separate swim time, or taking physically distant turns shooting arrows at the archery range, your camper is sure to have fun in the sun!
**Please note that some activities are subject to a specific age range for participation.
