I hope you’re all enjoying the beginning of your summer and had a lovely Canada day weekend. We’ve had a fantastic week here at Camp Kintail, with our K1 Sports Spectacular camp in full swing.
Even though this is our first week of summer camp, we’ve been super busy with campers here since the end of May!
This spring we hosted several retreat, school and conference groups. Churches from Elmira, Monkton, Stratford and St. Mary’s all joined us for a weekend church retreat.
We also hosted Cairn, our sister camp located in Baysville, for a 3 day camping conference, where we shared information about our respective camps and grew together in camping ministry.
The second weekend in June we were very busy with our Junior High Retreat, where 100 kids from churches across our Synod joined us for a weekend learning about various spiritual practices and worship. We had a great time together!
Right after we finished our Junior High weekend, we welcomed several staff, alumni, and camp supporters for our Run the Lane for Campership day! We were extremely fortunate to have raised $10000 for our campership fund, allowing even more campers join us in Christ this summer at Camp Kintail.
Finally, a large part of our spring was spent with the 17 school groups we welcomed to Camp Kintail for year-end class trips! Schools stretching across Huron, Perth, Wellington and Bruce counties came, some for day trips and some for overnight trips, and participated in a whole bunch of activities we have to offer, including Rockwall, Canoeing, Kayaking, Low Ropes, Nature Hikes, and Arts and Crafts. Through these school groups, we had the opportunity to give over 950 kids a day at camp and see smiles across all of their faces, and couldn’t have had a better time doing it!
I hope to see you all around at some point this summer! You’re always welcome to share in the beauty and ministry of Camp Kintail!
Much love, Guava
