How Social Media Has Changed How People Interact With Camp By Banana

Over the past couple years social media has changed the way Camp Kintail can interact and communicate with everyone who isn’t at Camp. It is such a great tool for the camp community to be able to see what is going on and what is new and exciting here at camp. While campers are off experiencing their week of camp, their family and friends back home can see pictures of what they are doing each day here.

In just over a year the Camp Kintail Instagram has gained 906 followers. Instagram is the site primarily utilized by campers and we use it for adding photos and short video clips each day.

Facebook is one of the social media sites that Camp Kintail has had for a while but is still where the majority of our content is posted and is still a very popular site. It is our main source of sharing photo albums of each week of camp, uploading wrap up videos of each week and advertising events.

Twitter is a very informal way of showing what’s happening at camp using pictures, GIFS, or a few words. As social media continues to grow and become a social norm, is a great way for the people who are unable to be here at Camp, to keep up to date on what is going on. It is always so nice to be able to see first hand how the camp community is still engaged in camp even when they are not here.
