This summer I have been blessed with the opportunity to run the ODA (Outdoor Adventure) program at Kintail. ODA campers do the majority of their programming outdoors. We eat two out of three meals outside learn great skills like fire/shelter building how to cook over a fire and learn about nature on top of all that we get to enjoy the same thing as main camp like arts and crafts and Rockwall. Now doing most of our programming outdoors isn’t always easy especially on those wet rainy days. Now just because it’s raining doesn’t mean the fun stops. ODA powers through, I’ve had the joy of being able to eat lunch on the Bluevale deck several times, doing rain dances, playing indoor gagaball, puddle jumping, playing board games (like Extreme scrabble run by Talus), Zumba with Crash and so many more awesome rainy day activities. I even got the chance to learn how to make a fire when most things are wet and damp a skill I am so happy to have acquired. The rain never rained on ODA’s parade.
