We had a truly amazing time hosting our first ever Weekend Away this week! From Thursday to Sunday, 12 awesome families joined us here at camp. Each family had their own individual lodging, either in a cabin or a Nest room, as well as their own bathroom and shower.
Even though we were social distancing, there was lots that we were able to share together: delicious meals made by our very own Mark and Tracy, good times down at the lake, and even a hilarious bingo night! It has been a huge blessing for us as staff to be able to help give a few days of respite to families here at camp during COVID-19. Not only does it feel just a little more normal to have people around enjoying the site, it’s also uplifting to see people be able to breathe, to smile, and to enjoy the outdoors with their loved ones. It makes a real difference, and it’s easy to see.
The Beach
Things went *swimmingly* this weekend (pun intended) and we can’t wait to do it all again! Everyone had their own spot on the beach, and as you can see, the aquamat and boats were a hit! As usual, Lake Huron did not disappoint with its world-famous sunsets.

Bingo!
One highlight was our optional evening program on Saturday, where special guest Moneymaker Maddie and her assistant ran an unforgettable bingo game for the camp! We look forward to more fun evening programs in the weekends to come!
We’re so grateful for such a successful first weekend of family rentals here at Kintail. We eagerly await the weeks ahead where we can host more families looking for a much-needed getaway!
