Last summer I was the Leader in Training Resource Counselor for one of the groups in August. I am currently extremely sad that they have left but so glad I was able to spend the month hanging out with 9 amazing LIT’s! When they arrived we got to have some great bonding experiences. The LIT’s then went with families for family camp and had some great experiences shadowing the counselors and learning how to be an excellent counselor. We then went on an amazing trip on the Bruce Trail. The hike was challenging but we also had some amazing views of Georgian Bay. The trip allowed for so much bonding and great memories! Their third week consisted of full days in cabins where they had the opportunity to lead devotionals, morning activities, cabin optional and flash (faith, learning and sharing). Their final week at camp they lead a chapel, primetime and a campfire. We also spent the week doing sessions on how to be a leader at camp as well as in their community. We spent time at the high ropes, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding, and time making a sweet LIT sign for the LIT loft. I am so glad I got to spend the month with the amazing group of people that will one day make a huge difference at camp!
