On October 18th, Camp Kintail and Connections (Synod Youth Ministry) held a joint one day conference on Leadership. Spencer Edwards spent time with the youth leaders and the Camp Kintail staff led a great day with the young people gathered. Algae, Vapour, Forest, Solstice, Flame, Pacific, and Wooly Mammoth led great workshops on games, music, communication, inclusion, teamwork, prayer, and leadership. We had a lot of fun and got to sing, pray, and laugh together as well as learning. Look for information about LEAD! next fall. It is a great day to get a head start on Leader in Training experience or brush up on your skills if you would like to be on staff. It was also a lot of fun! We are playing a giant game of human foozball. As part of an exercise on communication, one member of a group had to view a place setting and then explain to their group how it looked, sometimes without words, sometimes without using your hands, sometimes without looking at one another. It was hilarious watching everyone try to get it right! Communicating is not always easy…

At the end of the day, Pacific had everyone write on a small piece of paper one thing that they want to take back to their churches, schools or camp. Everyone wrote a goal that had come from the day. Together, all the pieces of paper created a “quilt” with our leadership goals and dreams.
Everyone had great goals and dreams, and the world will be a better place for all of us dreaming about how to change the world and make it better!
