Hi there everyone! I hope all of your summers have treated you well with lots of laughter and memories!
This summer I was one of the Music and Art Leader in Training Resource Counsellors. Myself and Hazel were with our LITs from July 17th-August 13th. We spent a week with them teaching them various leadership and counseling skills, followed by them spending two weeks in cabins learning, observing and assisting counsellors with their campers. Finally, in our last week together, our LITs lead sessions with the Kintail Express campers, as well as working on our final project – a compilation of photos depicting a day in the life of a MALIT! Along with this project, we recorded ourselves singing (along with the help of Crash – thanks Crash!) three songs, which are featured in the project. Our LITs were outstanding women who not only learned a lot, but taught Hazel and I so much as well. They will no doubt all make fantastic
additions to the Camp Kintail community!
Also, for the week of K9, I’ve been doing something somewhat new to me – Head Cook! I’ve had a great time cooking and baking for the entire camp, and from what I’ve heard, they’ve all been big fans of it as well! At least, I assume they are, as everyone here managed to polish off 400
grilled cheeses for lunch one day!
This summer has been quite the experience, one that I’m going to miss greatly. I’ve made so many new friendships and relationships, as
well as grown in my faith in God, something that I know I wouldn’t be able to do anywhere other than at Camp Kintail. Camp means so much to me, and I know that it’s going to be a part of my life for a long time to come.
Wishing you all the best as we finish off our summers, and move into the fall season.
