Flames Winter Scavenger Hunt

By February 17, 2023Uncategorized
Hey Camp Kintail Fam!
I hope that everyone is enjoying their winter and taking time to get outside and play! On top of snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and ice skating my favourite winter activity is a winter hike. I love it when Gus and I head out to the trees to take some mindful minutes and notice the beauty of nature.
Here is a little nature scavenger hunt that I like to remember to help me feel grounded in God’s creation.
Look:
  • signs of animal life
  • a pinecone, seed, or nut
  • winter berries
  • a birds nest
  • an animal burrow
  • animal tracks
  • a tree trying to hold onto its leaves
  • signs of spring
  • a bird
  • a squirrel
Listen:
  • birds chirping
  • the wind
  • water running/dripping
  • what do my footsteps sound like?
Feel:
  • chilly cheeks
  • tree bark
  • warm hat & mitts
  • brown leaves
  • the ground
Smell:
  • tree bark
  • fresh air
  • the smell of dirt or snow
Happy February Folks!
Take care,
Flame
