Special Day: Mail Call

August 21

| Free

What is #KintailMailCall

Dear Kintail Family,

For #KintailAtHome this week, enjoy a classic camp activity and write some mail! You can write a letter to a friend or loved one- but we especially encourage you to send a letter to local health care workers or residents in long-term care! It will brighten their day to hear from you!  Add drawings, messages of encouragement, and decorations! Then share photos of your creations with #KintailAtHome and #KintailMailCall! We are so excited to see your work, and are excited for the Kintail Community to reach out to those around us in an encouraging and meaningful way.

Talk to you soon!

Love, the Kintail Staff

Some helpful tips for your letter-writing!

  • If you’d like, sign your name(s) on the letter. You can also tell a little about yourself and/or your family .
  • Encouraging messages (i.e. “we are thinking of you,” “you are special,” “you are loved,” “I hope you are having a great day,” or “thank you for all that you do,”)  a nice poem, a picture of a sunshine-y day, rainbows, flowers, smiley faces, hearts, etc are all great things to include!
  • Try not to ask questions in the letter- these notes are just a one way, a gift from us to them. They won’t be able to respond! This is just a nice thing we are doing for them, and we expect nothing in return.

It’s Time for Mail Call!

Been missing post-man Sam? Refresh your memory and sing along to the Mail Call song! Can you see that someone in your home has an exciting piece of mail? Deliver it with style in a fun costume and by announcing your presence with this silly (and wonderful) tune. And don’t forget to have them sing for their mail!

It’s time for mail call (“Mail call!”) Bring me some news, (“Some news!”) Three pieces please, what song should I choose? Is it a package or is it a postcard? I’m hoping for a letter from my sweetheart! It’s time for mail call (“Mail call!”) Bring me some news, (“Some news!”) Three pieces please, what song should I choose? Please don’t wait a minute more, it’s time for mail call, bring me some news!
