Guest Speakers

Rev. Dr. Sarah Travis
The Rev. Dr. Sarah Travis is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. She serves as the Assistant Professor of Preaching, Worship, and Christian Ministry at Knox College. She is also the minister of Norval Presbyterian Church in Norval, Ontario. Her books include Unspeakable: Preaching and Trauma-Informed Theology (Cascade, 2021) and Unsettling Worship: Reforming Liturgy for Right Relations with Indigenous Communities (Cascade, to be released 2023).

Allyson Ashmore
Guest speaker Allyson Ashmore, from Spencer Tennessee and a member of the PCUSA, will be doing a session on the Enneagram Personality System. The Enneagram is a system of personality typing that describes patterns in how people interpret the world, manage their emotions and understand their core needs, motivations and fears.

Clergy Appreciation Day
April 25, 2023 | 10-3 | No cost |Lunch included
Clergy, active and retired, are invited to Camp Kintail on Tuesday April 25, 10am-3pm, for a time of fellowship and renewal. Guests can enjoy snacks, coffee and tea upon arrival, a guest speaker, hot lunch and time to spend together in person. There is no charge for this event. For those coming from further away, you are welcome to stay overnight and breakfast will be provided. Guest speaker Allyson Ashmore will be leading a session exploring the Enneagram personality types for all in attendance.

Lay Worship Leadership Workshop

This is a day for leaders in local congregations to learn more about worship leadership – from reading scripture, writing a prayer, and choosing music. Come and learn to gather God’s people together in worship. The Rev. Dr. Sarah Travis of Knox College will be teaching this workshop.

Lay Preaching Workshop

This is a day for leaders in local congregations to learn more about preaching. You don’t need to be an ordained minister to preach! God speaks through all of us, and this is a day to learn how to study scripture, craft your message, and deliver a sermon. The Rev. Dr. Sarah Travis of Knox College will be teaching this workshop.
