Every single year, camp changes; sometimes the changes are big, like the construction of the new chapel in 2010 or the addition of the Adventure Tower to our high ropes course last year. Sometimes they’re smaller. When big changes happen, everyone notices – but the little changes can be just as impactful, especially behind-the-scenes.
As Camp Kintail’s Admin Assistant for the second year in a row, I’ve become quite used to being behind-the-scenes. When I’m noticed by parents and campers, I’m usually behind the registration table on opening or closing days, but I spend much more time in the office. Last Fall, as Day Spring Presbyterian Church in London was sadly closing it’s doors, we received a donation of desks and shelves. These generous donations have changed the look and feel of the office tremendously. All of the office supplies are tidier, more organized, and a lot more accessible than before.
Every little change at Camp Kintail is noticed, and I’m extremely grateful for these new shelves and desks. When you come up to visit us this summer, if you’d like, you could take a moment to look around the site and find another little change, or something you’ve never noticed before – they all impact one of us, and we’re thankful for each and every one of them.
If you would like to know how you can help change Camp Kintail, we welcome donations of any kind. Visit our wish list page and see how you can give camp a helping hand.
