Camp Opening Day – April 13

By March 20, 2013Volunteers

Opening Day – April 13th, 2013 – 10:00-3:00

All help is appreciated & needed, big or small, young or old!  Come for any part of the day.

Come to Kintail for the day to help open up the camp for the season.  This is a great day for a youth group, session, or men’s group to get out together.  Come with skills and equipment for specific projects, or come with willing hands to clean and scrub.  Coffee break & lunch provided, courtesy of Oakridge Presbyterian Church, London.  Everyone is welcome and it is guaranteed that you leave knowing you made a difference after volunteering at the camp for a day!

Projects include:

?        Cleaning cabins & wiping down cabin mattresses

?        Cutting trees (bring your chainsaw please)

?        Opening the camp kitchen

?        Cleaning the dining hall & Harmony House

?        Moving & repairing picnic tables

?        Moving canoes & kayaks to the beach

?        Make & install new stakes for plaques in Celebration Tree Garden

?        Many other jobs, especially for anyone with carpentry or other trade skills

Please RSVP to Johnathon by email ([email protected]) or phone (519)529-7317.  If you are coming and have a specific trade, if you would contact us, we can arrange to have supplies for what you would be able to help with (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, auto, etc).

If you are unable to make it to opening day, but would like to lend a hand another day, please let us know.  Not all the projects will get done on opening day, and many of the projects listed above will be ongoing during the spring and summer, including finishing the floor in McKay Hall and replacing half of the Rec Hall floor.  Bring a friend and come to lend a hand any day, our maintenance staff would love it.  Meals are provided for anyone that can help anytime!
