Filling:
7.c apples, peeled, and sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 1/4c. Sugar
3 tbsp flour
1 /2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 2/ tsp. nutmeg
Mix apples and lemon juice. Blend dry filling ingredients and add to apples. Mix well. Put mixture in an 8×8 inch baking pan.
Topping:
1 c. flour
1 /2 tsp salt
1 /2 tsp baking powder
1 /2 tsp baking soda
1 c. rolled oats
1 /4 c. butter, softened
Directions:
Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add remaining topping ingredients and mix together until crumbly. Spread topping over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until the apples are tender and the crust is browned.
Great serves with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream or milk.
Serves 6 to 8.
