Gianna is currently in her third year of university studies with future aspiration is to be a midwife. In her spare time, Gianna enjoys cooking, baking, and reading about new things to cook! She’s also picked up a new hobby – zumba! – which she really enjoys. Gianna loves camp because it brings kids back to the simpler ways of playing, learning and laughing without the distractions of modern life. Gianna’s favourite time of the day at camp is campfire in the evenings, where we not only get to laugh and sing silly songs together, but get to come together in reflection of our day and our blessings. Gianna looks forward to this summer and the chance to put a smile on the face of each and every one of our campers!

Alana has been coming to camp for the past 14 years and this year will be her 5th year on staff. She loves working in the office and is excited to take on more responsibilities, learn even more administrative skills, and to be given the chance to make sure every child gets to come to camp for a great experience. Although happy to be at her desk, Alana also enjoys catching some sun during free swim at the beach, discussing faith at staff FLASH and going to a few “Arts and Crafts” sessions. Alana spends most of her time between summers focusing on school, working at a frozen yogurt shop, going to see her family in North Carolina, reading and spending time with her friends.

Ethan will be 21 years old in the coming summer. He has spent the last 3 years at Extend-a-Family (Kitchener), working with children and young adults with special needs. He is finishing the Personal Support worker Program at Conestoga College in April. This will be Ethan’s 5th year on staff and his 15th summer coming to Camp Kintail. Ethan’s favourite past times at camp are playing Disc golf, cards, and volley ball. He enjoys spending his summers at camp because he gets to interact with children, swim almost every day, learn new skills and spend the whole summer with his best friends. Ethan is psyched to be this summers Head Counsellor and he can’t wait to start.
Kitchen Manager – Lisa“Peppermint” Molenaar

Lisa is married to Dirk and they have two wonderful, fun loving daughters, Anika (12) and Adrianna (8). When she is not in the kitchen, baking or cooking, she love to read to herself or with the girls. Lisa would like to read 52 books this year! This is her second summer at Camp Kintail; she is looking forward to camp and providing everyone with a full belly of yummy food. For the last twelve years she have been a full time stay at home wife and Mom for their girls. Lisa also does lots of volunteer work for their Church and School. Camp is wonderful, we spend the summer meeting lots of new people and seeing how God works through people. Dirk and Lisa love closing Chapel with the kids on Friday night at camp. They are very excited to be a part of the 2012 Camp Staff.
Rockwall Director: Olivia ‘Lua’ Henrich

Shalom! I am currently in Jerusalem doing a field study for 3 months, taking in the culture, and attempting to learn some Hebrew along the way. This will be my 5th year as a staff member at Camp Kintail, and I am pleased to say that I will be holdin’ down the ropes at our rockwall as 2012’s Rockwall Director! In past years at camp I have counselled, been the Arts and Crafts Director, and last year I was resource staff after an adventure in Western Canada as a tree planter! I am looking forward to having a tree in our Tree Garden dedicated to myself and a few other staff members as a commemoration for having worked at camp for 5 years! Outside of camp I am finishing my 3rd year at the University of Waterloo in Peace and Conflict Studies, I work a part time retail job, and live with two other Kintail staff, Guava and Marine, and Fhyllja from Cairn- our sister camp! Out-tripping Leader in Training Resource Counsellor: Sarah “Zabrini” Boyne

Hi my name is Sarah/Zabrini and I am and in my second year of the Concurrent Education program at Brock University. This summer will be my fourth year on staff an I am so excited to be one half of the Outtripping LIT RC team. I love camp because it gives everyone the chance to be who they are with no judgement. I have grown up at Kintail and returning every summer has always been the highlight of my year. My favourite part of the camp day is campfire when everyone is together, singing and enjoying nature. I am bursting with excitement for this summer and I can’t wait to help the LITs to become excellent leaders.
Watercraft and Waterfront Director- Bronwyn “Armadillo” Armstrong

Bronwyn is currently living in Quebec, studying theatre at Bishop’s University. Camp Kintail has been a very large and influential part of her life and she is so excited to come back for her 13th year. In 2010 she worked as a first year counsellor at Kintail, leaving the next year to work as a waterfront lifeguard in Goderich, Ontario. She has been a lifeguard for over 2 years, working at the local YMCA as well as teaching swimming lessons. She is very excited to be coming back to camp this summer as part of the Watercraft and Waterfront Duo. When she’s not on stage or going to school she loves to go hiking, canoeing, kayaking, rock-climbing, and do competitive swimming. Bronwyn especially loves camp for the opportunities it brings to children on the water. She looks forward to warm weather, showing children how to use the camp’s canoes and
kayaks; and sharing one of her most favourite things at camp with her fellow staff and campers- Lake Huron! Have a great year! See you on the beach.

Beluga is beyond excited to spend her third year on staff at Camp Kintail as Music & Drama director! Some of her favourite camp memories are singing and dancing in the rain, playing Capture the Flag as a young family camper, and listening to the lake from the chapel. At home and at school, she spends most of her time singing and smiling. One thing she loves about camp are the spontaneous moments of joy and delight that can spring up unexpectedly at any time. This summer marks Beluga’s fifteenth year at Camp Kintail, and she can’t wait to see what thesummer will bring!
Nature Director – Mary “Rue” Crawford

Mary is an energetic and enthusiastic person who spends most of her time taking pictures, editing videos and volunteering for her favorite international development agency; Rayjon Share Care. She enjoys many outdoor activities such as rugby and swimming in the summer and snowboarding and snowman/fort making in the winter. Mary has a passion for languages and currently has mastered English, French and Arabic. She loves camp because it provides a safe and welcoming environment where children can be themselves and enjoy the outdoors. Mary’s favorite activities at camp are archery, playing with the bunnies and rock wall! She is very excited for all the fun and new nature sessions she has planned and can’t wait to encourage the campers this summer to care for their earth and share her love for the outdoors!

Alex has been coming to Camp since 2002, and from his first summer he knew he wanted to be a Kintail staff member one day. This dream was realized in 2010, and ever since he has committed himself to serving Camp Kintail. In his spare time Alex loves to make short films and volunteer at his Church. On top of his position as Program Director at Kintail, Alex is a Youth Representative on the Canada Youth 2012 Planning Team, and is eagerly anticipating the event this summer. Alex is looking forward to brining the unique Kintail experience to each and every camper that comes to camp this summer, and he is very proud to be a part of such an amazing Christian community!

Meagan has been married to Scott (Wooly Mammoth) for a year and a half and had the honor of being married by Trillium at Camp Kintail! She went to California for a honeymoon vacation and was able to hang out with the real Pacific Ocean (see picture). In her spare time, Meagan loves to go camping and make crafts. Meagan loves camp because of everything it has to offer to people of all ages! She can’t wait to meet lots of new campers this summer and help them experience the magic of Kintail. Meagan’s favourite camp activity is… well that’s a tough decision. She enjoys swimming, singing around the campfire, making crafts, going on nature walks, and well everything! Meagan is grateful to have the opportunity to work at Camp Kintail again this summer and looks forward to seeing lots of old friends and making many new ones!
Arts & Crafts – Aaron “Talus” Holden

Aaron is super exicited to be coming back to camp this up coming summer. This past school year Aaron has been working at KidsAbility. He has spent a fair portion of his time this winter creating new art pieces for camp. These include new signs for the direction post at the mouth of cabin path, a new mural painting to fill the space above the craft cubby, the staff message board, posters, plus many other ideas that are still in the process of being completed. Aaron has taken visual arts all though high school including units in Mask making, photography, stain glass art work, and painting. Expect many favourite crafts from past years, and many new craft ideas too.
Outdoor Living Skills Director: Jordan Meloche

Jordan is an 18 year old student who is studying vocal music. In her spare time, Jordan likes to play the guitar and go hiking. Jordan has been going to Camp Kintail for her whole life, starting with family camp when she was just 2 years old! Ever since then, she has continued to come to Camp Kintail every year, and will continue to dedicate her summers to it. Jordan is super excited for this summer and is planning some really fun activities. Jordan is excited to share her faith through God’s magnificent creation and all the fun things we can do in it!
Dance director – Nicole “Barnacle “ van Klaveren

Nicole van Klaveren is a crafty, creative creature. She lives in Woodstock Ontario with her mother, father and brother Nelson “Jalapeño” van Klaveren. She is currently attending York University studying Dance Performance and culture. She is a current member of “Sky Above Us Productions” and in addition to working at Kintail this summer, she is performing with the company. In her spare time she likes to sketch, play Lego and watch Friends. Nicole loves Camp Kintail because it is a great place to share and grow in her faith with each and every activity. Her favourite part of camp is the beach, not only for swimming but also for building huge sand castles. Nicole is looking forward to her summer at Kintail and all the crazy, creative, Christian fun!
Adventure Director: Anita Young

Education: Grade 12 graduate from Listowel District Secondary School
This year will be my third year as a Camp Kintail staff member. In my spare time I enjoy figure skating, field hockey, baking and being outdoors. My favourite activities at camp are the adventure elements and canoeing. I love camp because it allows campers to feel comfortable to try new activities and make new friends while experiencing God’s creation. This summer I am looking forward to teaching campers new games and allowing cabins to become closer through team building exercises.
Waterfront & Watercraft Director - Heather (Sprig) Salmon

I have been a camper at Kintail for 5 years, on staff as a counsellor for 2 years and this is my first year on Program staff at Camp Kintail. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, running, canoeing, and baking. I love camp because it’s like a family that welcomes any and all who walk in its doors with open arms. This makes it the perfect environment for kids and youth to experience God and grow in their faith. My Favourite activities to do at camp are body surfing and running the lane in the morning. This summer I am looking forward to spending lots of time on the beach teaching kids to canoe and kayak while keeping the water safe.
Resource Staff – Ben “Yeti” Zavitz
Yo and hello Kintailers! My name is Ben Zavitz or Yeti and I am thrilled to be making a round 5 comeback to Kintail. I am from Listowel, Ontario and my hometown congregation is Knox Listowel. I currently attend Brock University for Business Administration. Kintail has been a part of my life since I was 7. I have been a councillor x2, and maintenance. This year I will be doing KOTR, ODA and wherever I am needed. I like long walks on the beach, and everything camp. Hope to see you all there this summer!
Music & Art Leader in Training Resource Counsellor – Jenna “Hazel” Kinnaird
Haaay Ya’lllll! My name is Jenna Kinnaird, more commonly known as Hazel around Camp Kintail, and this will be my 5th summer on staff! It’s hard to believe that I’ve been coming to camp since the young age of 6 and here I am for another summer-I can’t get enough! I live in Hamilton Ontario where I attend Southgate Presbyterian Church and go to school at Mohawk College. This will be my 3rd year as a program staff member, I previously counselled for two years and was the Music and Drama Director. This summer I get the privilege once again to be Music and Art LIT RC. Having this position last year, I can most definitely say without a doubt, that this will be another amazing summer. At camp one of my most favourite places to be is with three lovely ladies I call Ella, Lucy and Anna- Trillium & Mercury’s daughters. They are giggly, funny gals who join me on crazy adventures and brighten my day. I also love to dance more than anything in the world and will dance anywhere at anytime! When I’m not teaching people how to dougie, I love to escape to the world of Tetris, dabble in some Shania karaoke and get my Zumba on! One of my many goals this summer is to run the camp lane without dying- mark my word it’ll happen! 2012 will definitely be a summer for the memory books, I am beyond excited to learn, grow and share with the camp community through God and through the arts!

Resource Staff – Olivia “Cumulus” Gillis

Education: Currently a Science student at the University of Western Ontario
Hey friends! My name is Cumulus, or Olivia Gillis in the “real world”, and I’m excited to be back again this summer to witness some great times and partake in some awesome adventures. This will be my 13th year at camp, and my 3rd year on staff; needless to say I am quite the fan of Kintail. There is no better way to spend my summer than hanging out at the beach, climbing the rock wall, seeing the sunset on Lake Huron, building campfires and singing songs with some of my favourite people. As for the other months in the year, you can find me on campus at the University of Western Ontario in London: right now I’m a student in the faculty of Science but am looking to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering in the fall. If not at camp, and not in London, you can find me frolicking the sidewalks of Niagara Falls and attending Bethany Community Church. Some of the things you might find me doing are baking cupcakes (my favourite!), hanging out with my family and friends, eating sushi deliciousness and cuddling cute teddy bears. I wish I had a time machine so I could fast forward to the summer, but since the one in my closet stopped working I guess I’ll just have to look forward to seeing all you magnificent people again soon! Mitchell Uniac is a Canadian boy. He lives with his Mother, Father,15 year old sister, and has a 21 year old brother. In Mitchell’s spare time he likes to listen to music, skateboard, play with his dreadlocks, and relax. Mitchell loves camp because of the effect it has on people’s lives’, the connection with the outdoors, and playing games like gauntlet, capture the flag, and risk. Mitchell went to a welding college is Sarnia at the start of the year and has acquired a few of his certifications. Mitchell can’t wait to get to camp and play disc golf, run, swim, and take care of the site all summer.
Out-tripping Leader in Training Resource Counsellor – Jamie “Inferno” O’Neill
Hello, I’m Jamie “Inferno” O’Neill and I will be filling the Out-Tripping Resource Counsellor position. I am super excited to share this position with Zabrini and make it an awesome and memorable summer. So all of you campers that are old enough and are interested in becoming an LIT please get your applications in. Encourage any friends and family to get their application in as well! I am currently studying History at the University of Western Ontario and enjoy playing on Westerns intramural sports teams. When I’m not studying for school I enjoy reading and spending time outdoors longboarding and snowboarding. Also, I have spent the last 2 years growing my hair in order to donate it towards cancer patients who are going through chemotherapy. I also encourage everyone to support a good cause in any way that they can. Super excited and can’t wait for the summer, see you at Kintail.
